Femoral fracture is a condition that often requires Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) and may result in postoperative pain. One non-pharmacological intervention to reduce pain is the Benson Relaxation Technique. This case study aimed to determine the implementation of the Benson Relaxation Technique in reducing pain among patients following ORIF surgery for femoral fractures at TK II Putri Hijau Hospital, Medan. This study employed a descriptive method with a case study approach involving two patients. Data were collected through interviews, observation, physical examination, documentation, and pain assessment using the Faces Pain Scale (FPS). The Benson Relaxation Technique was administered for 10-15 minutes daily over three consecutive days. The results demonstrated that the implementation of the Benson Relaxation Technique effectively reduced pain intensity, allowing patients to appear more relaxed and comfortable. The Benson Relaxation Technique can therefore be used as an adjunctive intervention in nursing care to help reduce pain in patients following ORIF surgery for femoral fractures.
