Home garden utilization is a community empowerment strategy that improves household food security and family economic resilience. However, members of the Kemuning Dasawisma Group in Wua-Wua Subdistrict, Kendari City, have not utilized their home gardens optimally due to limited cultivation knowledge, inadequate access to production inputs, and lack of technical assistance. This community service program aimed to improve community capacity in managing home gardens through education, training, input provision, and mentoring. Activities included training on vegetable and medicinal plant cultivation, field demonstrations, input distribution, monitoring, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments involving 20 households. Results showed a 77% increase in participants’ knowledge, with an average score improvement of 36.3 points. Plant survival reached 87%, with an average of 12 productive polybags per household. Vegetable production ranged from 1.8–3.2 kg per household, reducing food expenditures by IDR 55,000–85,000. The program effectively improved household food security and economic independence.
