Adolescents are a vulnerable group for anemia due to increased iron requirements during periods of rapid growth. Adolescent girls are at greater risk because of tendencies to restrict food intake and the onset of menstruation. Anemia, characterized by a decrease in hemoglobin levels below normal, is a global health issue that can lead to fatigue, weakness, reduced concentration, and decreased productivity in adolescents. This study aims to analyze the effects of vitamin C and iron intake on the incidence of anemia in adolescents. The method used is a literature review, exploring various information sources from Google Scholar over the past five years (2020–2025), using keywords such as "Vitamin C," "Adolescent girls," "Anemia,", “Females”, and "Iron.". The findings indicate that inadequate intake of iron and vitamin C, as well as poor compliance with iron supplement (TTD) consumption, are significantly correlated with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. In addition, factors such as the habit of drinking tea/coffee, low nutrition knowledge, and socioeconomic and cultural influences also contribute to anemia risk among adolescents. Therefore, comprehensive nutritional interventions involving increased intake of iron and vitamin C, education, and behavior modification are essential for the prevention and management of anemia in adolescents.
