Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness after cataract, and glaucoma-related blindness is permanent, making treatment—primarily drug therapy—focused on preventing further damage. Prescribing antiglaucoma drugs in accordance with the National Formulary (Fornas) is important to ensure drug availability and control costs, particularly for patients covered by BPJS (national health insurance). This descriptive retrospective study aimed to describe antiglaucoma drug therapy in BPJS patients diagnosed with glaucoma at the Ophthalmology Polyclinic of Dr. M. Djamil Padang Hospital, using secondary medical record data from patients treated between July and December 2023. Total sampling yielded 116 samples meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that monotherapy was prescribed more frequently than combination therapy, most often administered topically. The most common monotherapy was latanoprost (56.9%), while the most common combination was latanoprost-timolol (21.6%). Most prescribed drugs (98.7%) were not listed in the Fornas or Hospital Formulary. Monotherapy was most often given to patients with juvenile glaucoma, mild-stage disease, and intraocular pressure (IOP) ≤21 mmHg, while combination therapy was most often given to patients with absolute glaucoma, severe-stage disease, and IOP >21 mmHg
