HUBUNGAN FAKTOR EKONOMI DENGAN PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP FRAKTUR DI KABUPATEN PADANG PARIAMAN

Abstract

Fractures are a health issue that significantly impacts individuals’ quality of life. The Health Belief Model suggests that an individual's perception of disease and their belief in the effectiveness of a particular action will influence their health behavior. Economic factors are among the elements that affect community perceptions. These perceptions will determine how individuals manage fractures. Inappropriate management of fractures can lead to complications such as infections, gangrene, and neglected fractures. This study aims to to investigate the relationship between economic factors and community perception of fractures. The economic factors considered in this study are occupation and income. This study used primary data with analytical observational methods through a cross-sectional approach conducted in Padang Pariaman Regency from November 2023 to March 2024. The population in this study consists of the community in Padang Pariaman Regency, involving 390 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results indicate a relationship between occupation and income factors and community perception of fractures (p=0,000). This study concludes that there is a relationship between economic factors and community perception of fractures in Padang Pariaman Regency.
