Peran Upah dan Budaya Organisasi dalam Meningkatkan Kinerja Guru Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin di Kampung Baru

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of wages and organizational culture in improving teachers’ performance at Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin Kampung Baru. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving five informants consisting of administrators and teachers. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, with data validity tested through source triangulation. The findings reveal that the wage system implemented by the madrasah is adjusted to the institution’s economic capacity, work agreements, teaching hours, and position levels. Salaries are paid monthly and supplemented with incentives such as transportation allowances, year-end bonuses, and other rewards. These provisions have proven to significantly motivate teachers to enhance their performance. In addition, the organizational culture manifested through regular teacher meetings, mutual assistance, transparency, and quarterly study sessions fosters effective communication, teamwork, and a strong sense of solidarity. The study concludes that a well-structured wage system combined with a positive organizational culture plays a vital role in creating a supportive work environment, ultimately leading to improved teacher performance.
